Learning How To Play Blackjack
Blackjack is one of the most popular card games at any casino, online or land based. You can always find tables full of players all looking to win and play their favorite game at the same time. It is relatively easy to learn, but requires you to remember a few different strategies in order to really take advantage of the game.
Learning The Goal
You have two goals in this game. The first goal is to beat your dealer. You are not playing against the other people at the table, you are playing against the dealer and so is everyone else. The second goal is to do this without going over twenty-one. Too often players believe that they must get as close as possible to twenty-one in order to win. No, you must beat your dealer and do it without “busting”, which is going over twenty-one.
Learning The Play
Once you learn the goals, you must learn the play. The dealer deals cards to each person and themselves, two cards to begin with, generally one up and one down. The play starts at the dealers left and continues on with everyone, ending with the dealer. Play is done in full. In other words, the first person plays until they either bust or stand and then play moves on to the next person, in turn this way until it’s the dealers turn to bust or stand.
Values of The Cards
In playing blackjack, it is important to know the cards and its value, suits mean nothing, the card value means everything. Two through Ten of any suit has face value. A two will be worth two, while a ten is worth ten. Face cards, which are Jacks, Queens, and Kings will be worth ten. The Ace is worth 1 or 11, depending on your hand. A jack and an Ace is known as a “real blackjack”, but any face card coupled with an Ace is recorded as blackjack. However, this is only true if they are the only two cards in the hand.
Learning how to play blackjack means understanding the game and learning the strategies as they apply. Actions such as hitting, means you are taking more cards. Staying means you want no more cards and bust means that you have gone over 21. However, learning blackjack means learning all the rules and terms, the internet is full of information regarding this game.
